Bull, Ole (1810-1880),
violin player, composer, Norway.
Ole Bornemann Bull, norwegian violinist and composer,
known as "the Nordic Paganini", born on February 5, 1810 in Bergen,
died on August 17, 1880 on Lysøen near Bergen.
Violin student of K. M. Lundholm
(1780-1860), a Swedish violinist who visited Bergen in the 1820s.
1828 employed by Kristiana Theater (in Oslo)
1830s toured Europe, international breakthrough in 1834
1848 founded a national theater in Bergen, which opened in 1850.
1852-57 toured America, lost a fortune trying to establish a colony
