in the shaping of the language handed down to us as a
j-ich heritage from our forefathers, but our greatest
obligations are due for the fundamental work laid down
by him on the liturgy and order of service of our
Evangelical Lutheran Church, and for his preaching of the
saving gospel of Christ. May we all emulate the
example of the great Reformer in sanctified earnestness,
manly sense of duty, sincere faith, and unswerving
adherence to the eternal truth of justification by faith in
Christ Jesus. As members of a true Lutheran free
Church, we will then prosper in this new free land of
ours, in our God-given calling, to keep and to confess
the pure and unfalsified Word of God. If we do this,
in sincere hearts confessing Christ as our Lord and
Saviour, He will keep his sure promise: "Because thou
didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep
thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come
upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the
earth." Rev. 3: 10.
