the members an opportunity to inspect the library. About
sixty members were present.

The program consisted of the presidential address by
Professor Nyvall. His address is found in another place
of this book. Excellent music was furnished by the Misses
Minnie Cedargreen and Elizabeth Hagbergf who played
violin and cello. Mr. David Nyvall, Jr., was the pianist.

Reports were given by the secretary and treasurer.

The secretary said, in part, that a considerable number
of books and pamphlets had been added to the library
during the past year, some very valuable. At present
there ate about 5,000 books and pamphlets in the library.
Many new papers have been added to our list of accessions,
especially church publications and monthly papers of the
various societies.

There had not been any material increase in the number
of members; the reason for this is that many have
neglected to pay the membership-fee. It becomes more and more
apparent that the Society needs a secretary who can
devote all his time to the interest of the Society.

The election of Governor A. 0, Eberhart to Honorary
member and Consul A. E, Johnson and Mr. C. S.
Peterson to life members of the Society was approved by regular
vote.

The following were elected members of the council to
fill the term of 1914—1917, Fritz Andrén, A, J, Carlson,
Hilma L, Enander, C. A, Lindvall and John A, Nyden.
