paraphysarum contiguis, capitatis, fuscis. Hypolhecium hyalinum.
Sporae octonae, minutae, pàriete uniformi, lemii.

Thallus with interruptions covering at leasl 4X1 cin area without
visible hypothallus, variegatedly sordid greenish grey and greyish
brown, rough. Apothecia 0.2—0.3(0.4) mm wide, rarely contiguous, as
young surrounded by a distinct thalline margin, which laler ön may be
möre or less extenuated.

Apothecia about 0.2 mm thick, KOII—, pale part about 100 ij.
dee[). Gonidial stratum horizontal or reaching up into 50 ij. thick margin,
continuous below and to 70 p. thick, gonidia 8—12 ij. large in a cellulär
tissue of thin-walled cells. Exciple very thin or absent, at centre
con-fluent with the hyaline hypothecium to a 40—70 u thick cellulär tissue
with about 2 [j. wide, irregular cells, 1+ dark blue to the gonidia.
Thecium only 50—60 [j. high, hyaline, 1+ dark blue, upper 5—6 ij. dark
brown from the ±discrete, capitate apices of the paraphyses, 3.5—5 u,
yellowish brown in KOH. Spores 8. olivaceous, 10—13X5.5—6.5 [/.,
constricted at centre, with thin, uniform wall and septum.

R. Finkii may at the first sight resemble R. milliaria in the dark,
thin thallus and the small, black apothecia and in the shape of the
thin-walled, small spores, hut is separated bv the hyaline hypothecium,
the löw thecium, the narrower, constricted spores and the distinct
thalline margin round the apothecia.

»Thallus thin, chinky, granulate, and rugulose; greenish-fuscescent;
apothecia minute, adnate; disk flattish, blackish brown and black,
opake, the thin, entire margin blackening or excluded. Hypothecium
blackening. Spores 9—15X5—8 ijl.» Tuck., Syn. l.c.

Apothecia about 0.4X0.15 mm, widely attached upon the very
bark, pale part about 150 ij. deep, apothecia prominent about 50 ij, above
100 |j. thick thallus, without cortex and exciple, faintly yellowish in
KOH. Margin about 50 ij. thick. filled with dense gonidia, 5 —10 ij. large,
