Apothecia about 0.2 mm Ihick, sunk into the Ihallus wilhout cortex
and exciple. Gonidia 6—8 u., stratum touching the thecium side.
Hypo-thecium 50—70 |j. al centre, extenuated towards sides, centre pale
brown or dark fulvous brown, sides gradually pale. Thecium 70 u.,
hyaline, 1+ dark lillie like part of hypothecium; upper 10-12 |j
yellowish brown from the discrete or contiguous apices, 3—3.5 |j. of the
1.5 ij. Ihick paraphyses, apices in KOH discrete, capitate, 4—5 |j.,
brownish yellow, simple. Spores 8, in 55X10 |j. large asci, pale sordid
green, 10—13X5—(i.5 |j., very thin-walled and with about 1 |j. thick
septum, sometimes slightly constricted there.

Thallus and apothecia KOH + distinctly yellow wilhout mist. One
pycnidium in thallus about 70 jj, diam. with pale brown wall. Conidia
indistinct, 5—7X0.7 |j., straight.

Robinia Pseudacacia, s. n. R. sophodes.

The species may remind of a coarse R. exiyua hut bas quite another
kind of spores, not found in European species, most resembling those
in Buellia Schaereri. II agrees in several respects wilh R. pennsylvanica
hu| bas a coarser thallus, narrower and thinner spores, nol visibly
constricted at septum.

11. R. Scintae Monicae H. Magn. n. sp.

Thallus flavescenti-cinereus, limitatus, pertenuis, subareolatus,
linea hypothallina obscura cinctus. Apothecia dispersa, minuta,
ad-pressa, disco fuscoatro subplano, margine tenui cinereo-atbo cincto.
Cortex apotlieciorum tennis, cellulosus. Paraphyses superne
fusco-capi-tatae. Sporae octonae, mediocres, pariete aequaliter incrassato, seplo
tenui.

Exs.: Hasse-Plitt 120 (S.: hb. Vräng) s. n. R. sophodes.

The small, thin, plane, yellowish grey areolae not always contiguous
and the darker hypolhallus ±visible belween. Apolhecia 0.25—0.4(0.5)
mm wide.

Apolhecia about 0.25 mm Ihick, pale part 150 |j. deep, KOH—.
Gonidial stratum, 25 |j. thick, ending about 40 |j. from the surface of
the edge, + absent at centre. Cortex outside gon. sir. about 20 |j. thick
laterallv with irregular, 3—5 |j. cells, inlricate as in the space above
gonidial stratum. 1—. Exciple 15—20 ij. thick laterally and below,
hyphae at edge distinct in KOH, 2.5—3 |j., subintricate, laterally parallel.
