13. R. roboris (Duf.) Arn.

This species is recorded by Hasse and Herre from California and
by Fink from Louisiana. The specimen issued in Hasse-Plitt exs. 73
(S.) consists of one piece of bark with R. Hallii and one piece of branch
with a Buellia species. I have not vet seen this species from U.S.A.

Lecanora lepida Nyl. in Mem. Soc. Imp. Sci. Natur., Cherbourg 5: 115,
1857. — R. flavonigella Tuck., Synopsis 1: 209, 1882.

A southern species, recorded by Fink from Georgia, Florida and
Alabama. Specimen in my herbarium from Florida: Orange Co.,
Lake Peeket 1930, Rapp, ön Quercus virginica. In (S.) a specimen,
labelled R. flavonigra »Calkins, N. Am. Lich. no. 77» hut no exs.
Localitv illegible. Ön Quercus nigra.

15. R. subminuta H. Magn. n. sp.

Thallus låte expansus, albescens, tennis, rimosus, sublaevigatus,
KOH—, Pd—. Apothecia numerosa, perminnta, dispersa, basi innata,
disco concavo planove obscure rufofusco, margine thallino prominente
cincto. Cortex indistinctus. Thecium altitudine mediocri, superne
in-tense fulvum et Pd+ fuscofulvo. Sporae octonae, mediocres, pariete
inaequaliter incrassato.

Exs.: Reliq. Tuck. 88 (L., S., hb Mn).

Thallus opaque, continuous or cracky. Apothecia 0.2—0.4(0.5) mm
wide, abonl 0.2 mm thick, pale part about 140 ij. deep. Margin 50—60 |j.
thick withont cortex, gonidial stratum continuous all round, opaque
from minute granules lasting also in KOH or HN03, Pd . Exciple
widened at edge lo 35 u. bright fulvous with t ij. cells, tapering laterally
to 12 at base 20—35 [x, hyaline, refracting, cells 1 ij.. Plypothecium
about 20 ij., hyphae intricate. Thecium about 80 ij. high, hyaline, 1 +
dark blue like hvpothecium and exciple; upper 20 a bright fulvous,
+ granular, in Pd darker brownish fulvous. Apices of paraphvses
con-tiguous in KOH and still granular, clavate, 2.5—3.5 a thick, paraphvses
in much gelatine. Spores 8, mostly shrunk, dark yellowish brown,
17 -19X8.5—9.5 [j., apical wall 3—3.5 ij., iconvex inwards, septum
3—3.5 (X, central lamella distinct.
