100 ij., hyaline or yellowish, 1+ dark blue or lower ,’55 u, 1 — ( = exciple).
Thecium about 100 [j. high, hyaline, 1+ dark blue; upper 20 ij. dark
orange brown, Pd—. Paraphyses 1.5 a, in much gelatine, ends in KOH
somewhat discrele, 2(3) ij., hardt v clavate, pale yellowish brown,
some-times branched towards apices. Spores 8. 20—25X8.5—9.5 u, brownish
green, apical walt at first slightly con ve k inwards, 3.5 [j,, soon concave,
septum 1.7—2.5 a, central lamella distinct, thin.

Herre (hb. Mn). — Apparently with marked western distribution.

Of coarse, its appearance varies under different conditions. Thus
Krypt. Vind. 1560 is less typical with almost whitish grey thallus, partly
with a brownish shade, and verv convex, möre reddish brown
apothecia, partly dark cinnamomeous, probably from a moist situation.
When Zahlbruckner savs in bis long description ön llie label that the
thecium is 170 —200 tj. high, be is wrong, but in llie half globose
apothecia the hypothecium may reach 100 ;j. or even möre in height.

Thallus (in Reliq. Tuck. 86) quite indistinct, or large, continuous,
pale or glaucous, or consisting of brownish yellow, very thin, smooth,
