GMT except Saturdays and Sundays)
Commentaries from the United
Nations (1430 to 1600 GMT except
Sundays).

Each weekday during this period
the facilities of the CBC International
Service are at the disposal of the Radio
Division, Department of Public In-
formation, United Nations. In recent
weeks the Radio Division has used
this time to beam special reports to
Europe in the following languages:
Dutch, French, German, Serbo-Croat,
Czech, Russian, Arabic and Turkish.
Program Preview (1645 and 2130
GMT), a summary of programs-to-
come together with answers to listen-
ers’ mail.

The Inca Taky Trio heard in folk songs of
the Americas Thursdays at 1715 and Satur-
days at 2200 GMT.

Sundays

Women in the New World (1430
and Thursdays at 1700 GMT). Cana-
dian women and visitors to Canada
talk about matters of particular
interest to women in Great Britain.
The Lively Arts (1445 and 2215
GMT), including talks by artists and
comments by their critics.
Symphonette (1630 and 2200 GMT),
a quarter-hour concert of recorded
music from the classics.

Canadian Commentary (1650 and
2150 GMT), an authoritative analysis
of the week’s happenings throughout
the world with emphasis on their
importance to Canadians.

Young Ideas (1700 and Saturdays
at 1700 GMT), a program presented
by young Canadians about their own
activities.

Canada to Britain (1915 and 2230
and Tuesdays at 2215 GMT), plays
and documentaries designed to present
information on life and customs in
Canada.

Cross Section (1945 and Thursdays
at 2245 GMT). Athol Stewart,
young Canadian writer, portrays the
lives of individual Canadians he has
met along the way.

Mondays

Music of the Moderns (1715 and
2215 GMT), music of 1947, with
selections by Canadian and United
States name bands.

Discovering Canada (1700 and
Fridays at 2245 GMT). Visitors to
Canada and Canadians unfold per-
sonal discoveries they have made in
this country.

Tuesdays

Concert from Canada (1715 GMT),
presenting prominent Canadian artists
in recitals of classical music. Nov. 3,
