report on discoveries they have made
in this country.
WOMEN IN THE NEW WORLD
(Thursdays at 1700 and Sundays at
1430 GMT). A weekly magazine
program incorporating news and views
of British and Canadian women living
and working in Canada.
THE LIVELY ARTS (Sundays at
1445 and 2215 and Tuesdays at 2245
GMT). Artists and critics comment
on activities in their particular field.
A monthly magazine of news and
opinions on Canada’s artistic life is
included in this series.

COM IS IRI AR IR OUME CAIN AID AN
(Thursdays at 2215 GMT). A half-
hour recital featuring Canadian in-
strumentalists and vocalists.

FOLK SONGS FOR YOUNG FOLK
(Sundays at 1945 and Thursdays at
1730 GMT). Alan Mills, favorite
ballad singer of young Canadian
listeners, is presented in a series of
folk songs with guitar accompani-
ment.
A LITTLE JAZZ (Fridays at 1715
GMT). Modern music arranged and
conducted by Mark Wilson, with
lyrics by Louise Trott.
WE THREE (Tuesdays at 1715
GMT). A quarter-hour of popular
ballads with organ accompaniment,
produced and narrated by Tim Crow.
PRAIRIE SCHOONER (Wednes-
days at 2215 GMT). Jimmy Gowler
and his 14-piece orchestra feature
tunes and dances of pioneer days from
Winnipeg.
SYMPHONETTE (Sundays at 1900
GMT). A quarter-hour program of
recorded classical music.
CONCERT HALL OF THE AIR
(Sundays at 2200 GMT). Symphony
music by the Toronto Symphony
Orchestra broadcast and recorded by
the CBC Domestic Network.
MUSIC OF THE MODERNS (Mon-
days at 1715 GMT). Dance music by
outstanding Canadian and American
bands.
LET’S LISTEN TO MUSIC (Satur-
days at.2215 GMT). Patricia Fitz-
Gerald introduces selections of record-
ed music.
Talks
CANADIANA (Tuesdays at 1700
and Saturdays at 1730 GMT). Cana-
dians, as well as visitors to this
country, give their impressions of
Canada.
CROSS SECTION (Sundays at 1500
and Thursdays at 2245). Gordon
Burwash, Canadian radio and film
writer, inquires into the lives and
opinions of representative Canadians.
CANADIAN CHURCH NEWS (First
Sunday of each month at 1900
GMT). A report on the activities of
all denominations in Canada, prepared
and narrated by Dr. W. J. Gallagher,
of the Canadian Council of Churches.
