of Canadian sports events.

Program Notes

Two English-language transmissions
are broadcast daily to listeners in the
United Kingdom by the CBC Inter-
national Service. Information on
times and frequencies may be found on
the program chart enclosed in this
booklet.

News, Canadian and international, is
broadcast three times daily.

SUNDAY COMMENTARY (Sundays ).
Robson Black is heard in a series of
talks on immigration.

MIDWEEK COMMENTARY (Wednes-
days). Burton Keirstead and Blair
Fraser, well-known Canadian com-
mentators, review the week’s news.

Actualities and Interviews

CANADIAN CHRONICLE (Monday to
Friday). Reports from all parts of
Canada are presented twice daily.

CANADIANS AT WORK ( FRIDAYS ).
Actuality programs broadcast from
factories, industrial centres, and scenes
in the news,

SPORTS REPORT (Saturdays). On-the-
spot reports of outstanding Canadian
sports events.

SPORTS WEEK (Mondays). A revue
of Canadian sports activities.
Cross SECTION (Mondays). Inter-

views with Canadians living and
working in various parts of Canada.

Magazine Programs

LIVELY ARTS (Thursdays). A digest

of current Canadian cultural develop-
ment with comments by Canadian
artists, writers and critics.

Gordon Burwash, well-known Canadian radio

writer, interviews Canadians from all parts of

the country in the program series ‘‘Cross
Section”.

DISCOVERING CANADA ( Sundays ).
Stories dealing with the more serious
facets of Canadian life.

DISCUSSION Group (Tuesdays). A
half-hour round table discussion on
topics of current interest by well
informed Canadians.

Talks and Stories

CANADIANA (Tuesdays). Stories from
Canada’s past and reports on current
Canadian activities.
