nationally famous artists and sym-
phony orchestras are presented in a
series of recorded programs.

EVENING RECITAL (Wednesdays). A
series of recitals by outstanding
Canadian instrumentalists. April 6,

Noél Brunet, violinist, and John
Newmark, pianist; April 20, The

Jimmy Gowler and his 14-piece orchestra
present pioneer music and songs in PRAIRIE
SCHOONER on Saturdays.

McGill String Quartet; April 27,
William Van Allen, pianist.

FOLK Soncs (Thursdays). Canadian
ballad singer, Alan Mills, interprets
folk songs of North America, and
traces the origin of each.

Music oF THE MODERNS (Tuesdays).
A series of modern musical programs.

PRAIRIE SCHOONER (Saturdays). Pio-
neer music of the Canadian West is
presented by Jimmy Gowler and his
orchestra in Winnipeg.

Drama

BARLOWS OF BEAVER STREET (Mon-
days). A weekly dramatic serial,
written by Elsie Park Gowan, describes
the every-day life of an average
Canadian family.

On STAGE (Wednesdays). Half-hour
dramas written by Canadian play-
wrights. April 6, "I Remember this
Land’’, by Rhena and George Robert-
son; April 13, “Sing Archie Sing, by
F. Marjorie Jordan; April 20, "The
High Cost of Living”, by Robert
Haig; April 27, “So Long Patricia”,
by William Martin Petty.
