Actualities and Interviews

Canadian Chronicle (Monday to
Saturday). CBC reporters from coast
to coast in Canada contribute to this
chronicle of events which is broadcast
twice daily.

Canadians at Work (Fridays).
Canada’s industries and production
methods are described in this series.
Programs during February will ori-
ginate in the following cities: February
3, Toronto; February 10, Montreal:

February 17, Halifax; and February
24, Vancouver.
Cross Section (Sundays). Cross

section of Canada continues with
Gordon Burwash’s survey of jobs and
people in the public service in Ottawa.
February 5, Dr. Basil Leighton, gov-
ernment doctor; February 12, Miss
Jean Taylor, architect; February 19,
Kenneth Jones of the Department of
Mines and Resources; February 26,
Ben Rogers, diplomat.

Magazine Programs

Forest, Field and Farm (Wednes-
days). Commentaries on the progress
of Canadian agriculture. food produc-
tion, marketing, and the development
and utilization of Canada’s natural
resources. This series continues with
reports from Kenneth Wilson, Otta-
wa editor of The Financial Post, and
Blair Fraser, Ottawa correspondent of
Maclean’s Magazine.

Neil Chotem, outstanding young Canadian
composer and conductor, who is _ frequently
heard as pramstin EVENING RECITAL and
who supplies the incidental music for the
dramatic series, THREE OF A KIND.

Women in the New World (Satur-
days). This series presents stories of
Canadian women, their careers, hob-
bies and interests. Two or more
speakers are heard on each program.

Musical Programs

Evening Recital (Thursdays). A
series of performances by outstanding
Canadian artists.

Folk Songs (Tuesdays). The favorite
folk songs of North America are
interpreted by Alan Mills, Canadian
ballad singer.

Prairie Schooner (Sundays). Jimmy
Gowler and this orchestra recall the
days of the early settlers with dances
and folktunes of the pioneer West.

Drama

Three of a Kind (Mondays). A
series of dramatic episodes in the life
of Mr. and Mrs. Kind and their son,
Nicholas, who represent an average
Canadian family.
