Phil Shackleton, Ottawa reporters

offer stories about springtime hobbies
and recreations from various parts of
Canada. You’ll hear descriptions of

Canadian Primer (1715 GMT on
Sundays). Teacher and pupils of Cana-
dian Primer begin their review of
the year’s work before the spring ex-
aminations. On May 6, 13 and 20,
they review Canadian Primer subjects
by topics:
May 6: Canada’s Natural Resources.
May 13: Industry.
May 20: Basic Ethnic and Social
Facts.
On Sunday, May 27: listeners will
hear the ‘oral examination” of all
pupils.
Where do We Stand? (Sundays at
2240 GMT). Each week a panel of
four or five Canadians will take a
stand on topics such as these:
May 6th: (Winnipeg) "Is the Church
an Important Factor in our lives
today ?”
May 13th: (Ottawa) "Social Security
in Canada”.
May 20th: (Vancouver) ‘“Is the
College Fraternity a Good Influence
on Undergraduates ?”’
May 27th: (Montreal) “Why Do
Young Canadians Go to the United
States for Jobs?”
Home and Community (Tuesdays
at 2245 GMT).
Contributors to this program describe
the everyday things in Canadian
living—from kitchens and housing to
Junior League and church activities.
This Week (Thursdays at 2245
GMT).
This series—as the title suggests—
deals with events of very immediate
importance to Canadians in the fields
of business, trade, agriculture and
industry.
Canadian Chronicle: Reporters from
all parts of Canada present details of
the events in the days’ news head-
lines. The United Kingdom edition of
Canadian Chronicle is heard Monday
to Saturday at 1715 GMT and the
world edition at 2245 GMT Mondays,
Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
