Canadian Chronicle

A survey of people and happenings in
Canada, bringing listeners a fuller, and
often colorful, account of the major Canadian
news events. Heard daily except Sundays at
1715 GMT; also Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays at 2245.

News Commentaries

Following news bulletins at 1700, 1845 and
2230 GMT each weekday, Monday through
Friday, news analyses by commentators,
associated with Canadian periodicals and
daily newspapers, speaking from key news
points.

Talks and Magazines

Sundays: Special Speaker—1705 and 1850
GMT. Canadians and visitors speak about
their particular fields of interest or occupa-
tion.

A selection of programmes originally heard
on CBC domestic networks, rebroadcast for
overseas listeners.

Canadiana — 2240 GMT. A series of
stories and descriptions about aspects of Cana-
dian living, including adventures and journeys
to out-of-the-way places.

Tuesdays: How We Live—2245 GMT.
Stories by citizens themselves about everyday
living in Canadian towns, cities and villages.

Thursdays: Canada at Work — 2245 GMT.
This magazine includes comment on finance
and trade as well as descriptions and on the
spot broadcasts of specific Canadian indus-
tries.

Saturdays: Books and Shows—1705 and
1850 GMT. Critical reviews and descriptions
of Canadian activity in the various arts,
including new publications, music painting,
drama and all the major and minor forms of
cultural expression.
