definitely given his consent to the proposals I had
submitted to him: Swedish-born women were to
receive exit visas (with the reservation that, if
any of them had had any trouble with the police,
such cases should be submitted to him personally
for examination), and the Norwegian and Danish
prisoners were to be assembled in a camp at
Neuengamme, not far from Hamburg. I was
further given permission to establish contact with
Professor Seip (as a matter of fact, I had already
done so), who had been liberated and now
represented Norwegian interests in Germany, as well
as with the Danish Legation in Berlin. For my
part I promised to endeavor to have my Red Cross
column ready at Warnemünde ten days later.
