1755. S. 181-—84, hvor det bl. a. hedder: »Of the several in-
troductions to universal history that we have looked into, not
one, in our opinion, is to be compared to this, either in regard
to the general choise of topics, the clearness of method, or
faithfulness of narration. It includes all history, from the crea-
tion to the present time, and unfolds the origin, declension,
revolutions and destruction of empires, kingdoms and States, in
an easy and perspicuous manner«. —
S. 182: »In regard to
chronology the work is defective; but this defect is supplied
by the learned translator’s notes«. —
S. 183. »It is an excellent
introduction to universal history«.
