Of Lapps and Kvæner, mostly in Finmark and the Troms provinces, there were in the whole country in 1930: 19,328 Lapps and 7,309 Kvener. Aliens residing in Norway in 1930 were as follows: 42,000 Swedes, 7,239 Danes, 4,241 Germans, 3,699 Americans (U.S.A.), 2,000 Finns, 1,400 Russians, 600 English. Of other nationalities the number was very small. The total number of aliens residing in Norway was 63,500. Marriages during the year 1930 numbered 18,064. In the same year there were 855 divorces. The births registered in 1930 were 24,638 male children and 23,206 females. Deaths in the same year were 14,686 males and 14,930 females. The death rate per 1000 was 10.4 for men and 10.5 for women. </chapter>
