1128 NOTES TO VOLUME II.
Nought shall raise a parting line
To hold me from His tenderest love;
One shall be His will and mine
Lifelong here, for aye above.
Once He suffered death for me;
In that death I rise o’er sin.
Him atoning still I see;
Wondrous strength from Him I win.
Who, cold, sullen, sit complaining,
Knowing Christ has sealed his bliss?
Who, the ransom-gift disdaining,
E’er could fly such love as His ?
In that well-proved love I bide ;
Nought this heart from Him shall sever.
Angel-glory, mortal pride,
Wealth or want shall part us never.
Depth below nor height above
E’er shall hold my soul enticed,
Luring from a Father’s love
Mine henceforth in Jesus Christ.
NOTE 170.
COUNT HENNING GYLLENBORG.
Count Henning Gyllenborg was the nephew of the two Gyllen
borgs mentioned in Notes 87 and 115. He was born in 1715 and
died in 1775. As a young man he distinguished himself greatly in
the universities of Upsal and Lund. Afterwards he became a royal
chamberlain, and in that capacity entered the diplomatic service of
his country. In 1756 he was chosen senator or councillor-of-state
(Riks-Råd), but retired in 1761. In Document 138 he is mentioned
as one of the securities for his uncle Frederic Gyllenborg, who had
borrowed 30,000 dalers in copper from Swedenborg. The first
wife of Henning Gylienborg, Maria Sophia Stjerncrona, was a sister
of the Countess Gyllenborg, mentioned in Note 115.
