In general habitus this species is very like the preceding
but differs in the fifth pair of pereiopoda being shorter than
the sixth, with very short metacarpus; the seventh longer than
half the sixth, and the last pair of uropoda being provicled with
well developed exterior rami.

Hab. At 62° N. Lat. and 15° W. Long. (Exp. of Sofia) (S. M.).

3. Tyro Tullbergi, C. Bovallius 1885.

This species is readily distinguished from its congeners by
the short upper antenni, the smooth, unarmed anterior margin
of femur of fifth pair of pereiopoda (Pl. 40, fig. 8), the
pedun-culated dactylus of seventh pair, the distinet, comparatively
large exterior rami in all the uropoda, and the long telson.

Hab. Off Cape Horn, taken by the late Captain Georg
von Se h é el e (U. M. S. M.).

The second family Lclliceolidae, C. Bovallius, 1887.

Head stnall, not tumid, anteriorly truncated. Eyes small.
First pair of antennse tumid. Second pair filiform, not
angu-lated, fixed at the anterior-side of the head. Mandibles with
palp. Seventh pair of pereiopoda not transformed. Peduncles
of uropoda normal.

Hitherto representants for the family are known only from
the arctic region, but I think it very likely that Lanceola felina
