Gustavus N. Swan, Sioux City, Iowa, and Carl G.
Wallenius, Donovan, 111.; executive committee: A. G.
S. Josephson, John Em. Hillberg and A. J. Carlson
in addition to the President, Vice President,
Secretary, and Treasurer; press committee: J. G.
Sheldon and John Em. Hillberg; auditing committee:
Karl G. Lindvall and C. P. Erikson.
It was decided that the program committee be
appointed later,
A motion was made, seconded and carried that the
Committee on membership, the Finance committee,
and the Committee on library and museum be given
authority to appoint such representatives in such
places as they consider for the best interests of the
Society.
On motion, the letter from Consul Swan was
referred 1;o the Publication committee and the
Committee on Library with power to act.
The Committee on Library was requested to
correspond with Mr. Alfred Söderström of Warroad,
Minn., to learn in regard to his publication on
Swedish-American newspapers.
On motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the
question of an educational conference was referred
to the Committee on relations with other
organizations.
The secretary was directed to file an application
to the Secretary of State for a charter under the
name adopted at the last annual meeting: The
Swedish Historical Society of America, so that the Society
mi ght become incorporated under that name.
