ANNUAL MEETING, OCTOBER 30, 1911.
President C. G. Wallenius, in his annual address,
spoke on “The Educational System of the
Swedish-Amerieans.”
Secretary Ernst W. Olson submitted his report.
The address and the report appear in this Year-Book.
The Treasurer, Mr. G. Hallbom, reported
substantially as appears in the published summary.
Prof. J. E. Hill berg1 gave his impressions of a
recent visit to Sweden.
Br. Josua Lindahl, Rev. Edward Schuch and
Messrs. Henry S. Ilcnschen, Olof F. Nelson and
Charles S. Peterson were elected members of the
Council for the period of 1911-1914.
Mr. Alfred Söderström was elected an honorary
Member of the society.
The society resolved to take official action in an
effort to have Swedish introduced as an active study
111 Chicago high schools.
it was decided to publish a reprint of Clay’s book
the New Sweden Colony, and Mr. Charles S.
Peterson generously offered to have the composition of
the book done free of charge.
COUNCIL MEETING, OCTOBER 30, 1911.
The Council organized by electing the following
officers: President, C. G. Wallenius; vice-president,
• Johnson; secretary, Ernst. W. Olson; treasurer,
Custaf Hallbom.
On the Executive Committee ivere appointed:
Josephson, Akerlind and C. S. Peterson.
It was resolved that new members be charged
