Ernst W. Olson, Secretary.
COUNCIL MEETING, SEPTEMBER 3, 1912.
A proposition made by Mr. Alfred Söderström
looking toward the erection of a building for the
Society’s historical collections was discussed.
A committee was appointed to inquire into the
feasibility of the plan.
It was moved to recommend the following
amendments to the Constitution as follows:
The last sentence of § 6 to read:
§ 7 to read:
“Any person donating $500, in one sum for the
purposes of the Society may be elected an honorary
member of the Council.’’
“The Council shall, upon its election, annually
elect from among its own members a president, a
vice-president, and a treasurer of the Society, and
also a secretary, a librarian and such other officers as
are deemed necessary, and may fix their
compensation. ’ ’
COUNCIL MEETING, SEPTEMBER 26, 1912.
It was reported inadvisable at the present time to
attempt to realize Mr, Soderstrom’s proposition for a
library building.
Mr. Söderström had been asked to take up the
work of soliciting new members, and had declined.
The president was asked to deal with the
Söderström proposition in his next annual address.
