going yearbooks. I have an estimate on an edition
of 500 copies similar to the deckel-edge limited
edition of 1910 at a total cost of $162.50.

My correspondence during the past year has been
aimed mainly at securing books for the library.
Something like 200 Swedish-American books, and
many pamphlets have been received; besides copies
of a large number of local leaflets and monthly
publications have been picked up. There are upwards of
200 or more anniversary and memorial publications
of churches and institutions in existence of which
our society possesses copies of only a small number,
I am making a special search for these publications,
each of which contains some local historical material
and a considerable number I have already secured.

The proportion of delinquents to the number of
members in good standing is growing entirely too
high, and as the Secretary dislikes to take the whole
responsibility for dropping from the roll those in
arrears, the report on membership is deferred until
the Council or its Executive Committee acts in the
matter.

In January, at the request of Prof. Vilh. Lundström
of Göteborg, Secretary of “Riksföreningen för
Svenskhetens Bevarande i Utlandet, ’ ’ I prepared
an article on the aims and activities of our society,
which appears in the current Yearbook of that
organization and may have called attention iu Sweden
to the work of our society.

In the John Ericsson and Monitor celebrations of
last March throughout the country our members took
an enthusiastic and in many instances a leading part.
