JAzz Group (Mondays). Popular

music presented under the direction
of Gilbert Lacombe.

EVENING RECITAL (Wednesdays).
Outstanding Canadian composers and
instrumentalists are presented in
quarter-hour recitals.

Elsie Park Gowan’s dramatic series ‘‘Barlows

of Beaver Street”, broadcast on Mondays to lis-

teners in the United Kingdom, depicts life in a
typical Canadian family.

Two FOR THE SHOW (Fridays). Fred
Hill, tenor, and Jack Bristowe, pianist,
present musical comedies by popular
modern composers.

FOLK SONGS (Thursdays). Alan Mills,
outstanding Canadian ballad singer,
interprets North American folk songs,
and traces the origin of each.

MUSIC OF THE MODERNS (Tuesdays).
A series designed for the entertain-
ment of modern music enthusiasts.

PRAIRIE SCHOONER (Saturdays). Pio-
neer music presented by Jimmy Gowler
and his orchestra.

Drama

BARLOWS OF BEAVER STREET (Mon-
days). The life of a typical Canadian
family is dramatized in this weekly
serial written by Elsie Park Gowan.

On STAGE (Wednesdays). Half-hour
dramas written by Canadian play-
wrights. Feb. 2, "The Red Deer” by
Gordon Burwash; Feb. 9, "Nothing
To It” by David Savage; Feb. 16,
““Hard-Rock’s Mother Lode” by Mar-
cia Harris; Feb. 23, ‘A Good Woman’
by Gordon Burwash.
