DISCOVERING CANADA (Sundays).
Contributors throughout Canada com-
bine to present a picture of Canada’s
social, historic, and economic life.

DISCUSSION GROUP (Tuesdays). Half-
hour round-table discussions on topics
of current interest in Canada. Dis-
cussions during March will come from
Toronto (March 1); Winnipeg (March
8); Vancouver (March 15); Halifax
(March 22); and Montreal (March
29). The chairmen of these discussions
are Liston Sinclair (Toronto); Chester
Duncan (Winnipeg); Jim Nesbitt
(Vancouver); Frank Doyle (Halifax);
and Arthur Phelps (Montreal).

Talks and Stories

CANADIANA (Tuesdays). During
March this series of stories and narra-
tives about Canada will include the
life story of Pierre Beaulne of St.
Sauveur, Quebec; a description of the
life and habits of the Canadian beaver;

and ‘Stories from the Islands”, a
series of yarns about life on and near
the islands of the Pacific coast of
Canada. The yarns are told by Will
Dawson who exchanged the moors of
Yorkshire for the deck of an eight-ton
sailing vessel, "West Wind”. With
his wife, Eileen, he sails in search of
the interesting and the unusual.

ANTHOLOGY (Sundays). During March.

four of the six best short stories read
over the CBC networks in 1948 will
be presented. March 6, “The Party
was formal” by Floris McLaren;
March 13, "The Newfoundland Half-
Dollar” by James Reaney; March
20, "The Escape” by Arthur Mitchell:
March 27, “So Now You’re 21” by
Edward Rollins.

Kenneth R. Wilson, editorial writer for the
Financial Post since 1926, is frequently referred
to as Canada’s ‘‘Dean of Trade”. He has written
widely for periodicals in Canada, United States,
and Britain, and is contributing author to the
symposium Canada’s Economy in a Changing
World, published two months ago. Mr. Wilson
discusses Canadian trade relations with Great
Britain in the Thursday series "Trade Talks”.

CHURCH News (Sundays). Reports
on activities of Canadian religious
organizations by leading churchmen.

WOMEN IN THE NEW WORLD (Thurs-
days). During the month of March
this series describes women’s clubs
