This short paper on the "effect on organic bodies of electricity from Volta's galvanic battery" is a Medical Doctoral thesis, written in Latin by Swedish chemist Jöns Jacob Berzelius in the year 1802. The other name on the title page is his professor, Per Afzelius.
This 15 page scientific paper was reprinted together with another one by the same author, Nova analysis aquarum Medeviensium, in a small book: Jacobus Berzelius, Akademiska avhandlingar kommenterade av Jan Trofast, 1992, where both papers are translated to Swedish and commented by Jan Trofast. These translations and comments are of course covered by copyright, and that is why Project Runeberg only republishes the original text.
Project Runeberg's electronic facsimile edition was first announced
in June, 1999. Page images were scanned in 600 dpi bitonal and are
presented here in 120 dpi grayscale. Due to a lack of Latin
dictionaries, our OCR output quality was poor. Project Runeberg
wishes to thank Francisco L. Loaiza for proofreading the text.
